It can no longer act differently: either it will pay Ukraine in the form of military aid and support, or it will pay in any case, since we are now speaking of a nearly devastated country. British policy in Europe has been crowned with complete success. Britain, free of legal obligations and enjoying full freedom of maneuver after BREXIT vis-à-vis the European Union, is simultaneously becoming the absolutely indispensable “ally” against Russia in general and in Ukraine, and also against Trump. The maintenance of the military conflict in Ukraine entrenches Europe’s dependence.

Maritime trade routes are controlled by the United States. Europe is cut off from Russia and from Asia by land as well. A wall of states hostile to Russia guarantees Europe’s isolation (the Baltic states/Scandinavia, Poland, Ukraine, Romania) also by land. Europe, without a natural outlet by land or sea, is fully dependent on the United States and Britain. Its only options are: 1) a war economy, so that primarily Germany can rebuild its industrial base, and 2) internal exploitation (since the outlet of colonialism or neo-colonialism is no longer available to Europe) of the weakest “partners”. This constitutes, therefore, a reversal of income redistribution from Germany toward the Regions that lag behind the basic unwritten rule of European integration. Iron discipline is now required, both internally and from the partners. Political divergences, even the smallest ones, are becoming less tolerable. The regions now officially reinforce the center, within the framework of the war industry and the narrative of war preparedness against Russia.
