Potential Shift in the Level of Russian Escalation in the Russo-Ukrainian Conflict.

Potential Shift in the Level of Russian Escalation in the Russo-Ukrainian Conflict. Concurrent parallel discussions held in Moscow between Russian & United States, and Russian &Chinese delegations, do not signal positive developments. May serve a dual purpose: conveying Russian intentions while simultaneously gauging potential responses.
The concurrent parallel discussions held in Moscow between Russian and United States delegations, as well as between Russian and Chinese delegations, do not appear to signal positive developments. The fact that Russia, the United States, and China are addressing matters pertaining to Europe and Britain in the absence of European representatives is unsurprising. Such dynamics reflect underlying power relations.
The already difficult equation is further complicated by yet another visit to Moscow in recent hours: Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, head of the Vatican’s diplomatic service, arrived in Russia on 25 August for an official visit — his first since the start of the “special military operation.”It should be noted that the two Catholic countries in the region in question are Lithuania and Poland. The potential involvement of Belarus in the new escalation in Ukraine also brings up the issue of the Suwałki Gap, which constitutes Moscow’s Achilles’ heel. The Suwałki Gap is a narrow strip of land approximately 65-100 kilometres long on the Poland-Lithuania border that connects the three Baltic states (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia) with the rest of Europe and the NATO members, while at the same time lying between Belarus, an ally of Russia, and Kaliningrad, the otherwise isolated Russian enclave. Any new tension can IMMEDIATELY be transferred to this strategically important corridor. A blockade of Kaliningrad is also something that Moscow does not tolerate, opening up an additional discussion about possible preventive or repressive measures. Russia may be approaching a point of operational saturation stemming from the trajectory of the Ukrainian front and from deep strikes conducted by Ukrainianforces with British and European Union involvment against Russian territory. Concurrently, the recall of the Russian ambassador from London may constitute a further indicator of heightened tensions. Russia is furious with Britain. Russia repeatedly has expressed significant dissatisfaction with British policy in Ukraine. Relations between the United States and Britain, as well as between China and Britain, are likewise experiencing strain. Under prevailing conditions and available indicators, a modification in Russia’s approach to escalation appears plausible. A change in escalation on Russia’s part is possible.
Emerging considerations in related discussions may encompass the following options: disruption or disconnection of Starlink capabilities; hybrid or "other" targeting of European territory (for instance, Estonia); a decisive, punitive, or highly destructive strike against Ukraine; activation of a southern Russian operational front in Ukraine; the imposition of a naval blockade on Ukraine, escalation with new forces, acceleration of the rate/pace of advance, approach to the natural border of the Dnieper River and southern advance until natural contact with Transnistria. . . It should be noted that Russia retains escalation options that have not yet been employed. The discussions in question may serve a dual purpose: conveying Russian intentions while simultaneously gauging potential responses. Given the current trajectory of escalation in the Russo-Ukrainian conflict, the probability of such a dual character discussions appears substantial. Should these assessments prove accurate, corresponding developments on the ground may be anticipated in the near term.
